The Eastside Fix: Downtown Day, Part 2

After trotting around Grand Central Market, we didn’t have to venture far to hit more local landmarks. Just across the street stands the beautiful Bradbury Building, and we went in for a peek just before about 50 kids were ushered in for a tour. We snapped a few pics before making our way around the block to yet another historic spot, Angel’s Flight.

It costs only a quarter to ride the old timey funicular, which was reopened in March after being closed for nearly a decade (it killed someone!). We held our breath as it squeaked up the bumpy incline, which included a few precarious jolts.

From the top of the railway we walked another block to Gehry’s metal masterpiece…

Then on to Little Tokyo…where eye candy abounds…

Friendly shop owners…

And we saw a flaming trashcan - excitement on the streets!
